Raoul Walton, born in Manhattan, New York, studied painting and music at the noted Laguardia School of Music and Art, he started his music career with the support of Jazz stars Kenny Kirkland, Tito Puente, Michael Urbaniack, Ursula Duziak, Aierto, Sam Rivers, Elliot Sharp, James Mason after moving to europe, he worked with fusion pioneers Kjöl, Tom Van der Geld (ECM), Benard „pretty“ Purdy, Doug Hammond he worked with the great, late Conny Plank playing bass on lots of german Rock and Funk productions from the 80´s and 90´s leading to work with artists as diverse as Brian Eno, Holger Chukay, Andy Thoma (Mouse on Mars), 5 AM, Loophole, Klaus Dinger (Neu!), PFL, Waldeck, Marius Müller-Westernhagen, Raoul became the “House” Bassist for Milk and Sugar and recently joined the band of Mousse T. and Roachford. he recorded for Karl Keaton Jr. Akay, Pepermint Jam Records and play the sessionbass for Sebastian Hämmer. 1996 Raoul started programing Drum and Bass, releases for Good Looking, Compost, Cosmo, Wea, Pidgeon. Raouls tracks have been played by Gilles Peterson, Peter Kruder, Rainer Trüby, Fauna Flash, Ben Mono and Osunlade. In 2004 Raoul released under the artist name WEI-CHI the CD” One I, two Eyes” on Compost Records. collaberating with Ben Mono, Moonstar, Osunlade, Fauna Flash and Beanfield. Beside Raoul still find some time to play Jazz Fusion with Thomas Blüg,Tjis van Leer,Wolf Smon, Jerry Donahue and Gregor Hilden. |
